There are a TON of variables to be considered in this issue. The biggest thing of all being 60' time. Every tenth picked up in the first 60' is approximately 2 tenths at the end of the track.

Don't FDs trap 105 stock? If so, with a good launch, they are good for 12.90s or so.

Too many variables in drag racing to predict ets.
Better to ask what rwhp needed for 110mph, 120mph 130mph etc.

125mph is about 400rwhp with a nice dyno curve.

Do you really think a stock FD will pull a high 12 stock? I don't know about that. It just seems kind of fast.
Has anyone here heard of anyone running 12's stock?

If they do, in fact, trap 105 mph, with a 1.7x 60' time and a good driver, than it would run a 12.90 or so. It would probably require drag radials.

No, I've never heard of 12's stock, a good stock number is mid 13's and thats with 255hp at the flywheel.

To get a good idea start with 13.5 with 255hp and add 10hp for every 10th you want.

You want 13flat then add another 50hp. to get about 300 flywheel or 255rwhp.

This would lead to a 12flat with about 400hp flywheel which is about 340 at the wheels.

You want 11 flat add another 100hp at the flywheel which would bee 500flywheel and about 425rwhp.

These numbers are not exact but they will give you a good rule of thumb.

I heard 102. When you say they can get 12.9 stock, you dont really mean stock. You mean with upgraded tires. I think. But i believe that they can get into the 12's with drag radials and a good driver.

Not that I've ever seen or heard about. Your going to need good tires, driver and conditions to get 13.5, the NORMAL time for most guys is high 13's with regular street tires.

Your right about the stock trap though, its normally 100-103.

I don't mean showroom stock, I mean showroom stock with drag radials. If the car runs 103, than 13.20s are possible as long as it's not a turd in the first 60'.

A great deal of it is in the 60' times.
I ran 116 @12.8 2.2 60'*
Another time 12.3 @114 1.8 60'*
When I was stock about 102 @13.9 @ 2.5 60'>stock tires and wheel hop
*drag radials w/launch kit

Motor Trend said 13.9@99.7mph stock

Road and Track said 14.0@98.5mph stock

And that is with their professional drivers that perfect launching.

I'd add .5s for anyone bone stock to acheive realistically.

Keep in mind that trap speeds usually go down when you 60' time goes down.

Calculator

Well I typed in the weight and gear rations into one of those 1/4mi calculators (I can seem to find it anymore though... but it said that 300 horse should be good enough for a 1st gen...
2400lbs
3.9:1 rear diff
4shifts...

However this is just a mathmetical formula, and could have meant power at the tire... I hope thats right cause running a 12 with only 300horse would be killer
but you never know for sure until you actually run

neither of those magazines list the fastest time measured. from their measured times they calculate what an estimated time they expect "average" drivers can achieve.

There's been a ton of people who have run mid-high 11's with ~330 hp and slicks.

If you look around there are claims that Best Car got a 12.9x 1/4 out of the JDM 99+, thats 280hp (fly wheel) and a 4.3:1 diff etc (was an RS).

Ayup, when I read the first few posts of the thread I was a little disappointed with the questions. But then I saw they were 3-1/2 years old.
