How to tell Turbos are bad?

Engine has low compression.. I want to do a rebuild and would like to know if Turbo's are in good shape.. How can I tell?

I think you need to pull the turbo to see if the shaft has any play to see if it needs a rebuilt. You should probably clean it up while you have it off too.

yep...check the shafts for play and take a look at ur manifold to see if there are any huge cracks. i'm no mechanic....wish i could help more.
