How to tell if Stationary Gear broke?

What are the signs of a broken stationary gear? Besides the obvious, not running right etc etc.....

I loaded up some different timing maps...... Back rotor, fine 95 psi all around. Front rotor 30 psi all around, I've got a shitty thumping noise coming from the front rotor. It's not a compression thump, it's a broken thump

The car never leaned out, so no detonation. Anyone know what causes these things to break?

Anyhow, I'll pull it this weekend and see what's up.
