How secure is your FD?

What do you guys do to make sure no one enters or steals your FD's?

I know it's not a common car to steal but I was just wondering since my friends r33 skyline got stolen from his driveway.

lojack, but to be honest the doors are hardly ever locked, if someone wants in or wants the car they are going to get it. People come with tow trucks and just take it if they really want it, only way to put the favor in your odds of getting it back is a locating device. A 1 time fee of ~1000 dollars for a police used location device is worth it imo.

Car thief here is not common.
Some people steal car to move drugs for little distance but they point at common "ruined" car (like Fiat Panda and etc.) not at an RX7 that here every policeman stop to look at^^

BTW i have a Garage.....

Mmmmh here probably if you go for a trip you must remove Stereo everytime if you don't want to found a brocken window

My FD is kept in a locked garage and blocked in by another vehicle (tandem garage), its pretty secure. Plus I only drive it for fun so its never used to run errands and doesn't get left unattended on the street or in parking lots or anything.

Mine is unattended out in the street right now. I take it to the store, the beach, downtown...pretty much anywhere I want to go. I'm not gonna NOT drive my car out of paranoia...If it was a bone-stock ITR with 10k on the clock that would be a different story, but a '93 rx-7.... It's a nice car, but it's replaceable, head-turnable, and worth driving as much as possible.

Insurance.

Mine is theft proof:

It is incapable of running, and it is on jack stands!

Now this is an issue that I'm very proactive with.

As some of you might already know, I have a fantastically psychotic ex-girlfriend stalking me currently, who also happens to be into stealing/smashing/burning fast cars, and is hugely jealous of the FD (at one point trying to claim it for herself, and even going as far as grabbing photos of the car off a flash drive I had in my house, and then uploading them to her own Facebook account, naming it as "My RX7" on her profile...

Yeah right.

Layers of protection:

I park it off the street in the backyard where it cant be seen from the road at all. Driving past you would never know it was there.

I've alerted all my neighbors to watch for cars/people/disturbances in the street, and act on it, and help them out as an incentive to help me out.

I have a high powered HID floodlight aimed at the driveway and down the street, to light it all up if need be.

Day/Night vision cameras which point out the driveway and cover the whole street, so I have a record of every person who exits and enters my street, 24/7 and anyone who comes remotely close to my house or driveway.

If they get past the cameras, there are motion + heat detecting sensors that monitor the car 24/7, and can detect a moving or hot body that gets within 10 feet of the car, and triggers an audible alarm inside my house.

American Pitbull in the backyard, who is trained to look after the house and car, and ward off anyone unfamiliar who gets too close.

Inside the car, removable steering wheel. The hub is smooth and no tools can grip it reliably. They cant bolt an alterative wheel onto it, because the bolts holding the hub boss on, are security bolts- the drive heads shear off when they are torqued down, to prevent unscrewing with a tool. You need a license to buy these, and they are standard fitment in most prisons.

If they decide to come into the house during the night, keys are hidden away. And by the time they get close to finding them, I have other countermeasures of home defense that will stop them and put them on the ground.

The police usually do drive bys in the street at night, to check on everything, after I got a restraint order. And the car is insured well too.

During the day, a person stays at home while I go out, to make sure everything remains good. If something does go wrong, they have instructions on the wall to call police, and call another number- this will alert my friends that something is up, and they are needed. They live 5 minutes away and will get "involved".

Next step is to get a GPS tracker for the car, one which I can wire to the fuel pump and disable the pump with my smartphone if it ever gets taken.

The issue here is that people will steal a car and drive it til it blows, then get out and torch it and burn it out. Happens every time. So a GPS tracker is somewhat futile as they will just burn the car irrespective, and get a 12 month good behaviour rap, and set free again, no fines.

The way I see it, I worked hard to get what I have. And the scum wants it for free. Nobody gets what I have without a decent fight first.
I drive my car every single day. It is my daily. I leave it in carparks, do my errands, etc. But as soon as I pull into my house, it is as safe as it can be, especially at night and when I'm not there.

That's a pretty good idea. I'm imagining the thief stomping on the gas pedal while looking back at Rich on foot with a Louisville Slugger.

If I look outside and see someone ******* with my car, I won't need a gun.

I'm worried about the thieves I DON'T catch.

I lol'd....great movie.

"I'm thinking about getting robot legs....its a risky operation, but it will be worth it" haha.

I leave mine outside my garage every day. My built DSM stays in the garage for now. Once I get some fitting and lines in for my PCV relief system, I'll put the FD in the garage.
