You need to pop the little metal piece of the socket. Very similar to the connection rod on the motor for the lights.

hmmm i havent messed with the lights yet but i can kind of picture what your talking about... is it a pin that pops out? the whole thing has been torched and everything is under lots of soot/burnt plastic so its somewhat hard to see whats where on it

Remove the nut off thersplined motor shaft then the drive arm will come off , (hard to pull or pry off) mark the arm to the shaft with a punch or you will have to clock in the position to get the wipers to stop in the correct place . You can not buy new brushes for the motors but they can be made if you need them .

my wiper motor owned me! i tried to get mine off and i ended up popping off that ball joint/cup thing and then tucking the arm back in the hole. Im not sure how easy it is going to be to reatach it but there is a bit of play. I raised my wipers straight up and that gave me enough room to play with the arm to detach it. just if you havent moved the motor arm then just raise the wipers and reconect the arm. I hope it works.
