How to?--Rear windshield outer rubber molding

Could someone instruct me how to correctly remove the black outer molding/trim for the rear windshield? I am preparing to repaint the rear hatch.

Thanks

Nope. I don't know if you can peel it off without making the window want to come out.

I would probably just cut the part of the rubber molding off that hangs over the paint with a razor blade, then have a glass shop install a new molding after the paint is done. Buddy had his replaced very quickly and easily by a local glass shop, don't remember it costing very much at all. But, it's something a pro with the right tools needs to do.

FYI you may want to search on that molding - it cannot be replaced without removing the rear window.
