just wondering how rare red interiors are?

 

AFAIK, they were only installed in SSM and I THINK BB had some too. Not a lot of cars have red interior. Most prefer black. As for specific numbers I probably couldn't help you there.

Red interior is pretty rare.

Its more common on SSM than the others from seeing them listed in the classifieds, definitely very rare on Chaste White since its the least produced color aside from CYM..... Pearly White doesnt count because its simply a one of a kind color.

 

most seem to be in automatic cars too.

 

The question really isn't how rare, it's more how desirable.

 

Ive only ever seen one car with it, and it was a SSM. After you see it in person I can't imagine you'd still want it, it looks like a really tacky velvet suit from the 80s.

 

From my understanding the 1993’s had ALL RED interior and the 1994’s only had red seats and carpet!

I'm sorry but that is incorrect. I've had two 1993 SSM's and they were FULL black interiors in both instances.

 

Did you just say I was incorrect

ALL 1993's that have red interiors received everything in red. In other words if you picked red at the dealership, you received an entire red interior.

In 1994 if you picked red as an option you received red seats and carpet. I hope that made things clear.

Friend of mine had a silver touring model with all red interior and manual transmission

 

my 93 ssm is red seats and plastics with black carpet.

 

I have a 93 BB Touring, with red interior and manual transmission.

Tacky? Well, that's your opinion. It looks pretty good from where I sit.

I have the 93 BB with red interior. The car has red seats, red doors, red kick panels, red rear plastics, and black everything else.

Is the red carpet in the pictures installed from Mazda it doesn't look like the stock black carpet, just wondering?

 

I do like the look of the red carpet but never been a fan of the all red seats. I always felt the should have went two tone, black with red inserts.

 

I had red interior in my 1993 (5-speed) SSM. I swapped it out for black though.

 

I didnt know 1993 SSMs had black carpet with the red interior
