how is it possible to hear boost leak from inside?
title says it all...i'm pretty sure i have a leak somewhere, probably the couplers. whenever i accelerate 3k+ rpm i hear this whoosing, hissing air noise from the passenger side of the dash, almost as if it were coming out of the air vents. i'm wondering how the leak from the front of the engine can be hear inside the car? are the air vents connected someway to echo such leaks?
thanks
thanks

stick your head underneath the hood and pull the throttle cable and rev it to about 7K and you tell me how loud it is under the hood... It's not to hard to hear a good sized leak from inside the car.....

hmm...never thought of it that way, just figured an air leak wouldn't make that much noise...yup, bay area is a great place to live, except for the internet bubble, the housing prices, the traffic, the giants, the a's, the golden state warriors
