Check an oweners book to be sure , mine is not handy but they use a qt every 1000 to 1500 for most cars ,also it depends on how hard the car is run.

Yep, I usually add a quart every 1200-1500 miles or so. It does vary on how hard you drive. If you are not consuming that much, you are either driving the car easy or your oil metering pump is not working correctly.

I almost never add oil. BUT, I change my oil almost every two weeks, whether I've driven it a lot or not. Call me paranoid but rather spend money on oil than motors

Changing it that often seems to me like a big fat waste of time. If you look at the oil every so often and it's not ruined or anything, you're probably fine changing it every 2-3k miles. Anything sooner than that and you're probably wasting time, money, and oil. The oil shouldn't be black when it comes out, necessarily, but it shouldn't look totally amber and clear like when it goes in.

My $.02

Never.

I change my oil every 1500 - 2000 miles and have never even seen it drop on the dipstick hardly.

I dunno......maybe automatic cars just naturally use less or something.

That or the MOP is dead!

I check the dipstick every couple of weeks .. or just before I'm about to go out for a good hard drive ..

Currently use about 750 mls every 5000kms .. I think that works out about the same as Rynberg ..
