Question How much WHP can FD's Potentially Make

I am just curious about this one. I always hear these 1000+rwhp supras being bragged about and I want to know how much rwhp rx7's can put down. I am just curious. Thanks

Well.. on a mustang dyno, about 563.95 horsepower at the left tire..but it has to have 30% tread. On a dyno jet, about 564.02!! And that is with 95% tread! Lol, on a serious note..i dont know, a street car like 400-500 and a race/non-street in the 600s on a 2 rotor..3 rotor is a whole different story. But the thing is, a 600hp FD can beat up on 1000 hp supras

potential can be a very large word.

how much of an RX7 would it have to look like underneath still?

the engine itself has the potential to make 700-900RWHP

the drivetrain in stock configuration should be able to handle 500-600.

You may want to ask this question in the single turbo rx-7 section. If you use the "search this forum" tab, you may even find some numbers on RX-7s. You also may want to look in the 20b section, as that is where you will find the real power (my opinion only).

the highest I've seen for non race motors is about 700 whp for the 13B and 1000 whp for the 20B

if u want power, get a 4 rotor. With a lil bit of mods u'll own and when cops pull u over for being so loud, just bounce on them, they'll heard u but they wouldnt know where to look

350-400 whp is where i'd cut a streetcar off unless you've got 2 foot-wide slicks in the back. lots of guys are 400-450+, but everyone's got a different idea of "streetable". my current definition of streetable is "within the limits of traction"...everything else is just personal preference and opinion.

power is absolutely useless without control.

Who the hell is Jeff ritucci?

I believe Ari (Yallon, of www.rx7.com) told me the most he ever made on a 13B was around 750 rwhp? something around that range.

Is it just me, or does that car look stupid being half painted gold/green and half carbon fiber?

CF, who cares?

If you HAVE to show off your CF, at least paint it black or something...

this thread should be closed with a final line: how many rotors are you willing to use?

Reactive racing's 2 rotor:

That was on gas...supposidly it put down more than that after they switched to methanol.

ive seen that car before. he was at rotorfest i believe. my guess is that 680 figure is estimated flywheel hp...just like the 1000hp figure.

ive got a used t78, which ill get rebuilt/modded and shoot for some where around 500 at the wheels with stock ports/pump gas sometime in the next year or so. (depends on the money). right now im good with 320ish at 10 psi.

there's a video floating around somewhere that was shot (i assume) in japan of a Red FD making 710 whp. They had 3 or 4 guys stuffed in the hatch to keep the wheels on the rollers. i'll see if i can dig it up

I am gonna have to go with reactive's dyno sheet. That is the most power on a Dyno sheet I have seen from a two rotor. That is probably a good figure. Damn I know I might be a little timid but I could not imagine a 700 hp anything. Its hard enough keeping the wheels straight on a stock FD, add 500 more and that is insane. Remember I am a little timid and traction is a good thing.
