U sure you got yourself RX7. This doesnt sound like one
Seriously, that is A LOT of boost in neutral and also a lot of vacuum at idle unless you have it set at 1200RPM.

18-20 in. Hg. vacuum is normal for a good running engine with a normal 800 rpm idle. I certainly hope he's not revving the engine up to redline in neutral to get that psi boost, however.

shawnhpv72, not sure what you're asking, you've listed a bunch of mods. Which one are you referring to?

i go WOT to 7k and it hits about 7psi on average. i was just wanting to know what kinda power you think the car will make.
ya i know its alot of boost in nutrel im not sure y its so hi. i read that it should be around 4 psi but its alot higher then that. its a brand new boost gauge. just installed yesterday. im just trying to get a feel for the car i havent driven a rex before.

im not sure but if it was clogged would't less flow mean less flow thru the turbos? i have no idea on that subject. and how hard would it be to clogg a hi-flow cat. the cat and catback are prety new thanx

if the cats clogged it would create more back pressure which would allow the turbos to spool in netural easier, but you shound never rev the motor in neutral high enough to boost, thats how bearings get spun

OR OR OR if your knock sensor is missing or you have knock...

or if your ignition timing is unrealistically retarded....does your exhaust manifold glow at idle?

the knock sensor thing would cause the retarded ignition thing.

i had that happen to me once on an SR motor. the problem came down to ignition timing, because the knock sensor was bad.

i could create 7 or 8 lbs of boost by 4k rpms at idle....it was crazy.

though i could be off base on this considering we are talking about a rotary...and they have little to do with SRs. thats just my personal experience with building boost at idle

Interesting... I can't get my turbos to create any detectable boost in neutral, but then again, I think that's a good thing.

hah i never even tried, but when i rev it to 4 or so to get the BOV to release at a light or something its not anywhere near building boost level

Stock sequential system "should" make about 4-5psi in neutral, IIRC.
