How much power have you made on your stock motor?

Hey guys, I'm finishing up on a single turbo setup on my 93 R1, and I was curious to see what kind of power are you guys making on a stock motor? I have a recent Mazda reman, and am curious how far I can push it with stock seals and ports. Lets see what you've done.

I made 360 rwhp and 303 tq at 15psi on my t60-1 turbo. didnt last long though.

precision t4 pt67, AEM EMS, AEM ignition, 850 primaries, 1600 secondaries, aeromotive fpr, walbro dual pumps, SLS manifold, 4" dp, Tial 44mm wg, HKS SSQV bov, ACT sprung 6 puck. getting things finished up on my whole turbo setup, and I want to know how far I can push a rebuilt motor with like 8000 miles on it before it will pop. I imagine my turbo will be good for 450-500whp, but I don't know if the motor can take that?

I noticed your post says AEM EMS, how is that working out for you? I used to have one in another FD and it was a pain to tune. I managed to get my engine to 304rwhp but that was with street port.

Motors are not usually the limiting factor in rotaries. You will pretty much make as much power as you want to put mods on the car, and almost directly how much boost you run. There have been plenty of people who have made upwards of 500whp on a completely stock, original motor. It looks like your only slightly limiting factor will be stock ports on the motor, but plenty of people run stock ports, you just wont be able to get quite as much out of the top end.

Nobody knows how long a motor will last. Some people get lucky and have a rebuild/single combo go more than 40,000 mi. Then there are the few people who blow them up within the first 1,000. Make sure you get the best tune you can afford, and throw a water injection kit on that bad boy. They are reasonably priced, and will do loads as far as keeping your motor knock free.

Last thing to do is to pray to the rotor gods to spare you, ha ha. Good luck.

I haven't even fired the car yet. The shop is working on final fabrication of my downpipe, and intercooler setup. It should be ready to fire by next weekend. I will keep you posted.

I appreciate the info. I would like to push the car to see if I can get 500whp on this setup, and that's what I was hoping to hear.
