The thing is if its running good or how it should everything will be fine and you wont spend anything... But if its running like a bitch then you better fork out the dough... but anyone who has a turbo car can only expect to spend alot to keep it running...

First 6 months i had mine I didnt spend too much on it... Then I blew the motor and ended up spending probably around 6k on:
new motor
clutch
alternator
coils
spark plug wires
starter
battery
vacuum hoses
ast
waterpump
radiator

i could go on and on but you get the idea.... and it still is running like **** haha, but oh well its a FD!

Ditto for me too.

The first couple of months i got my car it was AMAZING! It was fast, reliable and fun to drive everyday which i almost did drive it everyday. I was thinking damn, rx7s are not what people think they are, they are reliable if they are well taken care of.

Then i started going on ebay, rx7.com, rx7store, searching the forum for parts and little by little, i got problems lol. No engine problems thank god but little ****. Last summer i had a grounding problem so i couldnt drive at night because it would act up with the headlights on. Now this year i have a tps symptom issue. Not sure its really that or something else. But my interior is half in cause im doing the tan to black conversion so ill look into the tps once the interior is complete.

in 2 and a half years, including the price of the car. 34k and some change, bad mechanics suck, they charge you 80 bucks an hour to figure out how to fix your car, really lame!

I know what you mean, it took them about 2hrs to figure it out and then he said whats the problem said they will fix it but they made it worse.

I had 1 FD that ran well '94 PEP With Wheels, suspension, Hood, Intake, AST, Strut Tower Bar, and '93 Spoiler... all in all I figured I had 5K in it... above the purchase... ran great untill it / (I) wrecked...

Took insurance money and bought another, that was a problem child... I was assured the turbos had a minor check valve issues by a rotary mechanic, and that was not the case, 1 Engine & Turbo, IC Later.... I had well over $17k above the purchase price in it. And most of it were due to the "While you're at it" Disease.... Once Everything was back to gether fast forward 2 years, it finally got on the Dyno, to be tuned... and I warp a seal, and 4 Weeks later, I get a bad tank of Gas and the whole mess blows up in my face... I was stearing at $8k of damages, to get it back to where I was 6 Weeks earlier.... and I folded.....

approximately $2000 on gas a year since i have been daily driving
approximately $250 on redline oil a year

so around $2500 to keep it running a year daily driving and thats not counting insurance.

In the past 2 years of owning my FD, i've sent 8-10k including servicing it but its been very good mechanically. My FD was pretty much stock, just purchased a power FC and hoping for a tune in the very near future... fingers crossed it remains good mechanically
