As much as I would love to have full coverage. can't afford it. Full coverage for me would be about $220 bucks a month. Plus I am already paying $250 a month for a garage. And I think you know all the other expenses that come along with a FD. Budget is TIGHT already.

$280 a year for full coverage with $250 deductible. Collector car insurance is the way to go.

USAA Insurance... I'm 28

94 Base - Full coverage
93 Civic hatch - Liability

$115 a month in NJ......it will likely be half as much when I move. NJ insurance is quite expensive.

I have heard mixed opinions on the collector car insurance thing. I mean I love the pricing, but I hear some people (with other cars) complaining about the restrictions on the usage. Even on this forum some people had some issues with even just getting the insurance.

I was paying $21-22 / month with full coverage at 100/300/100 from Geico.
I just switched from those crooks to AAA and my overall policy went down. Not sure the current price for the portion related to just the fd

Tell ma about it... Thats the down side of living in NY. everything is so expensive here. I pay on my first car for full coverage $215 second car on liability is $175 and the 3rd car (fd) on liability is $90. NY drives me insane with these prices.

I pay $68 a month for mine with an agreed value policy of $40k. It has restrictions but none of them changed how I can use the car from what I had before on a normal policy which cost more and covered me for far less in the event of a total loss.

3k miles a year, keep it in the garage and don't make a habit of driving it to work. I don't have problems with any of that since it's not my daily.

I was paying $68 a month on my FD for liability, but I upgraded just now to Collision $1K deductible and comprehensive $1K deductible. They said the payment will be $118 per month.

I figure I can afford that, since I was paying about $120 per month in Florida for liability only.
