how much for 13Brew crate engine?
ive got an opportunity to get my hands on a gen 3 for $6000. but the catch is, its got a blown engine.
what would it take to get the engine swapped out, and a crate engine put in?
anyone know who produces good streetported engines? perhaps, pettit? or should i talk to 'Trix?
ive never had to think aobut replacing a rotary before, so im at like, STEP 1 on this deal. and i just wanna size up the task before i get into this, and get the car.
thanks

Step 1:
Consult KD rotary....
Step 2:
Call Malloy Mazda and ask to speak to Ray Crow in Parts...He has the deal on reman mazda rotary motors for $1700....
Step 3:
Get your car to KD as fast as you can and let it sit there...Dave is a great person to do the work. Just might have to wait for it....
When I had my motor swap....it came to about $2900 for the motor and labor...Well worth it for you......8900 for a 3rd gen with a new motor? great deal

hell yeah definitely go for that. I wish I would have done that. Everyone's going to have to replace their engine at some time...might as well be right at the beginning. Then you are good for years.

thats Sweet. now, all i have to do, is take out a loan for $10k... i wonder if a 20 yr old student w/ no steady job could get a loan like that....
i figured perhaps $3500 for a nice street port motor. so...even at $9500, thats still cheap. dont Gen 3's run around $12 and even more, for good condition?
if its an automatic, im gonna pass it up tho. i need it to be a manual.
thanks

Also, when you replace an engine you have to replace some other parts like hoses, maybe an airbox thats cracked, etc. These parts can add up. From what I've heard a rebuilt tranny is around $1200.00.
