Just wondering since so many young people are buying a FD as there first car,and can afford the intial purchase of the car, but then realize that the car cost to much to own, due to it breaking and trying to afford to fix it , insurance rates, and the making the car payment.

Bought my FD at the wee age of 17. I still have it a year later(still runing just like it has since the standalone, v-mount, and exhaust). I would never sell this car. If you did just buy an FD and are thinking about selling it, do it. I think if someone does not know if they really want an FD, they dont.
My guess would be that most people that sell their FD do it for reason's other then their like of the car. Like any "Toy", sometimes they have to be let go for awhile due to external responsibilities.
Not me, When i first bought it, i snapped the PPF and it scared the **** outta me, but i kept on going now i have a singe turbo and the mods to push this thing up to 450+ Rwhp. Its not as comfy anymore tho
Both my FD's are paid off, and I've owned my first one since 2000. I just put this thread out there, cause i see so many young people looking to get a rx7, and how many people on here tell them how expensive the car can be. Just wondering how many people didn't listen or ignore the advise of people on this board and bought it, and then realized this isn't the best car to have on a low fixed budget, as a daily driver.

This is a bit like going to a church and asking for people who do not believe in god.
People who have sold their car for this reason are not going to be hanging around this board.

I guess it's a dumb thread, oh well !
Don't know what your talking about. If you read what i posted, i mentioned why i posted this thread.I don't know why people are referring this thread to me as i can't afford my car or looking to get rid of them, As i already posted. My cars are paid off. I also own a daily driver. Contour SVT. So i have 3 cars. If you look at my sig, I have 2 rx7, it's obvious i can afford a FD, if i have 2, and i have no plans on selling them, i might even pick up another one. I always wanted a Black one. Then i'll have a silver, red, and black FD
After reading all those horror stories one gets too conscious about the his/her FD here, that if its hasnt broken today it must be giving me a heart attack tomorrow.
i posted a thread day before yesterday i think, where i was worried about the primary turbo that i thought was busted. Today i took out the joint between turbos and intercooler and kept 'fingering' it from both sides if i could find a little sign of oil leaking.
there wasnt even a slightest sign of oil in the pipes from turbos till they are routed to the intake manifold. lol.. i must mention that my FD has 112000 kms on it and the engine was never rebuilt, its 1994 and is a Japanese import and when its warm the engine noise while idle is less than a new toyota corolla's engine.
So i think its running fine. i think im keeping it and loving it
Now that i have realised it can never be a GTO, FTO or a Evo or even a Supra but a RX7 FD that slowly becomes your identity and is associated with your name. I have seen many of my friends changing my name in their cell phones to "kaisarRX7" lol. Some people who still havent seen it will automatically get attracted to and will ask wht this thing really is. They will love to see the interior with open doors and will request you to pop up the hood to see whts inside. The worst though is kept explaining how a rotary motor works but its fun
Why am i saying this? ^^ i had a R33 before this FD, never have i ever got such attention standing by it.

The best cities where you prolly find them are Karachi then lahore and even Peshawar has more than 30 FDs. Islamabad people are nutts, they will buy anything that is labelled sports car. FD is just too much for them.
i didnt listen, and i was almost turning 18 and my car needed new engine harness and other goodies to run a year later.. i am 20 now and still love and dd my car
well im a importer myself and according to customs yearly report published for us, there are about more 500 FD only, imported in Pakistan in last 7 years.

That's amazing. Put that in my "you learn something new every day" file. Before reading your post I would have been surprised to learn there were any FD's in Pakistan, let alone 30 in Peshawar. That beats out some areas of the U.S. where some owners find themselves kind of lonely. Go figure.
well i doubt they would still be on the forums. But these cars arent that horribly expensive. All sports cars are going to be expensive to buy, insure, repair and maintain.
I think its worth spending money on a car if the car is making you happy, rather than putting your money into some car that is boring.
