how many low-mile fd3s are out there?

I just bought an fd3 and am curious just how many are out there with under 30,000 miles on the car?

(I'm looking more at odometer readings than miles on a replacement motor)

Has anyone created a list or registry that includes mileage?

Is anyone interested in using this thread to post how many miles are on their FD3?

I had about 29,000 miles on my rx-7 when I bought it last fall. It now has about 34,000 miles on it. Unlike the old (original) owner, I actually drive it.

They're going to be few and far between. I'd be surprised if there are more than 3 or 4 dozen....if that many.

And then there's the other thing. If the mileage is super-low, what's that car been doing (or not doing?) It's not good to have an FD sitting for months at a time with the coolant not circulating.

Oh, and BTW I've got 37k miles on my car. It's had an easy life. But if I was down around 20k I'd start to get worried about the disuse problems I mentioned above. I was just reading up on tires the other day. They need to be "exercised." The rubber needs to stretch and move around periodically otherwise they'll start to crack.

I've seen a few for sale around 20,000 miles but they don't seem too common, so I started wondering just how many are out there and how low do they go?

Which just goes to show that low mileage isn't a guarantee of reliability with these cars. There's good reason to believe that periods of disuse can damage the coolant seals. Is that the reason for the engine rebuild, a leaking coolant seal?

On the other hand you can find cars with 60-75k miles that are pristine well cared for cars that have a long life ahead of them and are cosmetically perfect.

just turned 60k miles a couple weeks ago, i bought it with 57,xxx. my car is in immaculate condition and look forward to a long life with the fd

I met a guy this year with a 94 silver touring with 6,000 miles. He lives in MI and does a great job of keeping it clean. I think he goes by " fdpocketrocket " on this forum. Beautiful car.

46k on my cym, 60k on my vr, used to have a 95 r2 with 60k but sold it a couple years ago

I'd say most super low-mileage cars are going to be going up in value, even if being stored for long periods is bad for the mechanicals, they can be replaced. Mint condition body and interiors are what people are preserving with low mileage
