Purchased a new FD in 1994. Dealer bought it back after one week due to lemon law (Blown stock motor after 300 miles and many other problems). Bought a '93 in '97. After two engines and $25K in mods, I still have that one. What was I thinking?

Bought new in 1994. Has about 95,000 miles on it. Put a reman in around 80,000 because I was starting to mod it, and it seemed like a good idea. Car has never failed to start, or get me home.

'94 Vintage Red R2 bought new in February of '94. The car has just over 30K miles on it and it's been very reliable. It has spent all of it's life reserved for sunny days and/or autocrossing.

Mine's a '95 purchased new in Aug. of '95. About 32,000 miles now. No engine problems. No major problems at all really. Just routine maintenance.
Can't say I drive around "proud" thinking I have the hottest car in town. I still like the car, but I don't think it's cutting edge anymore. The first few years no one really knew what it was. Most people were puzzled. Then when The Fast and The Furious came out it got lots of attention, much of it unwanted. Lots of idiots in crappy Hondas with a sewer pipe exhaust cutting me off or trying to race. There's still some of that, but it's died down from the peak. There are lots of hot cars where I live, but yeah, I still get a few looks.
Is that what you wanted to know? I have a feeling you didn't ask the question you really wanted to ask.

Purchased my 93 R1 in May of 93.
Overheated and blew the original engine at 60,000 miles coming back from a track event.
Had KDR rebuild the engine but did not run right. Within a month, the engine was rebuilt by KDR free of charge. Still I was not happy with it and bought an engine from Pineapple Racing. I "installed" that engine in 2000. But I have not compeleted the install due mostly to laziness.
Recently, I have committed my wednesday nights to working on the car again.

bought my bb 93 R1 new in dec 93. still got it. the only major work done to it was a rear main seal replaced under warranty. other than that, it's got just over 99,000 miles with original engine, turbos, & clutch/transmission
i expect the clutch to be replaced "soon". but seeing as it's not a daily driver, "soon" could still mean a couple more years for me

93 VR base, purchased new in July of '03. 94K miles on original motor and turbos. No racing, no abuse, no problems until my 2nd mod @ 91K miles. Added a downpipe when my precat went bad (RB catback already installed), boost spiked to ~14.5 lbs and turbo #2 started acting up. Currently have 99 spec turbos in hand and a brand new (not reman) engine from Malloy on the way. The moral (to me anyway) is don't mod 'em, take care of 'em and they're realiable, fun, fast cars.
Took delivery of my 94 VR base model on October 26, 1994. The only probems have been the EGR valve, oil pressure sender, dashpot (twice) and oil leaks from the oil pan at the engine mount (fixed), and the rear turbo shaft seal (not fixed yet). Oh, and I need new little ***** for the tone and balance controls on the radio -- the plastic cracked.
It now has 38,175 miles and is stock except for a downpipe, boost gauge, extra ground straps and an Optima battery. The body is fine, engine is very strong and smooth, and the interior still has that new car smell.
