my dad and i both went half and half in buying a Fd shell, then we went halfs on buying a front clip from a j spec, currently we are just about finished the only thing left is the wiring (some of the wire harness doesnt match up, plus who ever had the shell cut every wire so they all had to be sodered together again) it should be donewithin a couple weeks, we are currently searching for a new shell so we could both have a FD.

My parents bought their 93 Efini VR (type R) in 1999. I drove it quite a bit.
I ended up buying the car off them in 2004. Have done new motor/paint/S8 interior etc to it.
My parents now have a 2001 Series 8 Rx-7. 15,000km .Its a 280hp Type R in innocent mica blue.
Both cars look good in the garage togeather!! On days i am staying over i drive the series 8 and the series 6 in the same day. Its interesting the differences in power/handling of the cars.

wow this thread was brought back to life..
my dad owned a FC around 1982-1984 until the day i was born but had to sell because it was too small, not enough seats, to expensive for a family car.
he then bought a lancer turbo to replace it.. lol
I once had an 88 FC but now have an 94 FD..

my dad has a 93 and i have a 94. he is being gay and wants to sell it and buy a corvette. he says the parts are too expensive. and we are both in the airforce. and at one time we both had jeeps. pretty cool i think
my dad has a pic taken of him sitting in a silver FD at the chicago autoshow back in 92. He said he would buy a porsche 911 or a FD. Only reason he bought a porsche was becuase of the FD's small interior, non adjustable steering wheel, and low headliner. So when i finally get my Fd on the road, it will parked in the garage nest to his porsche. lol
Funny thing is, i was at that show with him, and i think i vaguely remember it, because when i was WAY younger(10yrs old) i always wanted a silver sports car and have it named the "Silver Bullet" LOL. good times.

ah.. my bad bro!
i thought u just bought it recently.
My dad went to the dark side, MKIV Supra TT, 1998 in Imperial Jade Mica. It had like 23,xxx when he bought it, originally a Maryland or Virginia car, then to ebay and finally SoCal. I prefer the FD for driving in the twisties myself, it just feels better. Both have most of the bolt ons and are lovely cars.
