Good point. There's quite a bit more to running a given time than just having the power to run that quick.

i think the hardest part about our cars is the launch/60 ft time. my friend cut a 1.70 on stock tires, but then missed 2nd....would have been a nice run.

Makes me wonder now how fast my car would be, never tested it out yet...I think I will try to hit infeneon raceway sometime...my car is running really good at 13lbs of boost...just need to practice my launch a bit since I dont drag that much anymore unlike the old days...

..no midpipe??? you should hit mid to low 13's with a stock midpipe. When you take that off it make a world of difference, and a world of smell.

I told tim that and I'll tell you the same. I was cutting low 1.7 short times on drag radials and there is no way your friend, which tim told me was you......... can cut 1.7's on stock type tires.......

Ditto, 13.36 with even stock tires for me at 1200ft above sea level track. Just replacing the main cat and muffler with a crush bent 3" pipe and using M & H dot tires with nothing else done dropped me to 12.67. Actually that might have been without the tires. It's been over 10 years sorry : )

I was pretty abusive to get that time Garg so don't feel bad, I'd never drive the car like that normally : ). When I say abusive I mean things like, err was I supposed to have my foot off the gas when I shifted? It also took A LOT of practice. We used to have all night street racing here in the early 90's with hundreds of cars and you'd run all night long. I miss my youth.

with that combo, you should have no problem pulling low 13 second runs.

Probabily high 13's to mid 14's- depending on tires, engine condition, and your launch.

no offense but it sounds like an anamoly...1.7 on regular shitty street tires sounds pretty close to imposible to me.

Was it a 1.70 or a 1.79? I could possibly see a 1.79 with gobs of traction compound sprayed on with a good clean track. I think the best I ever managed after in excess of 100 attempts and being a reasonable driver was a 1.82 or 1.87. I forget which. The norm, of course, was 1.9's on the S-02's err were they S-07's or 02's stock?
