how to lock flywheel to get 2 1/8 bolt off?!
How would I go about locking the flywheel in place so I can use an impact gun to get the bolt off? Is there something I need to make, or buy, or do to accomplish this? Please lemme know.
Thanks

If you are using an impact, you don't need to lock it in place. If it moves much at all, just putting your hand on it while impacting with help the impact be more effective.
That said, to put it on, don't forget the sealant on the nut, and use an adjustable impact to put it on at the 300ft-lbs+ required. (320-350 if I remember right!)

If you want the piece of mind, you can get a flywheel stopper:

It's cheap and works well. If you don't have an adjustable impact, then you'll something to hold it in place while you torque on it during the reinstall.

*sigh* {search}
It's all over the place.. I've posted this I don't know how many times.. would someone please sticky a flywheel nut removal thread?
Get yourself a long piece of angle iron (like 4+ feet). Line it up with the flywheel, and mark where the holes are. Drill 2 holes in the angle iron, and bolt the sucker to the flywheel with a few washers inbetween the nuts and angle iron. Set that sucker on the ground (or something solid, I even did this with the engine loose on the ground), and then use whatever you're using. I used the 2 1/8" socket with a 3/4" drive sliding thingeymabob.. don't know how to describe it, basically a 3/4" drive male end slides along a slider bar. Put that sucker on it, and stomp on the slider bar (which is attached to the 2 1/8" socket, which is on the flywheel nut, and *yoink* it comes off.
