How to install Slave Cylinder

Hey guys,

For the life of me I can't seem to get my slave cylinder to fit into the clutch setup, it doesn't go any further than about 2 inch's in and there is a gap of about half an inch from the bell housing, not sure what to do to get it reinstalled.

Not sure if it's pressure issue with fluid in the line. I reinstalled mine without the line hooked up as to not have any pressure behind it . Either way heck the piston in it and make sure it's not stuck or damage, hope this help

Thanks man, yeah tried to get the line off at the slave but stripped the bolt so removed it at the top ABS system but still not luck so will take the bleeder value off and the line and try again.

Maybe your clutch release fork isn't where it should be

The release bearing is clipped in now so can the clutch fork move out of its original placement?

Shouldn't be. Sorry, I should have been more clear. If you still have hydraulic pressure in your clutch slave, it is pushing the slave rod out which is contacting the clutch fork. You can either remove the pressure in the slave by disconnecting the hydraulic line, or you can force the slave in and physically push the fork forward enough to get the cylinder mounted. Manipulate the fork first to make sure it is not bound up and that you get full range of motion.

Something basic to check. There's a metal spacer that bolts to the bellhousing and the slave cyl bolts to that. Is that still in place? Typically when I remove my slave I actually pull that spacer with it. If you were missing that spacer then you'd sure not be able to bolt the slave to the bellhousing directly. The spacer has 3 bolt holes while the slave has 2, so does it look like you're going to have an extra bolt hole you can't explain? I know it's basic, but just thought it'd be worth confirming.

I couldn't find a good pic of it, but try looking here and ignore the other text: https://www.rx7club.com/attachments/...-fd_tranny.jpg
