Angry How the hell do you get to the back of the radio?

I picked up my FD 2 week ago and since then I haven't been able to listen to the radio. The guy I got it from put in an aftermarket touch screen pioneer radio. he said the antenna connection may be loose or not connected so im trying to take the radio out to look at the back of it to see whats going on. im in the process of trying to take the AC panel off and it appears to me that im going to have to take off the trim around the steering wheel, and the trim around the cluster and all of that. Is that the case? if so, this went from being what I thought was going to be a quick easy fix to a PITA. any input is appreciated.

thanks

got it all off, and noticed that the radio isn't working because the stock radio antenna had a conntector on it with 8 pins and the aftermarket radio is just the one with one large pin/plug. is there an adapter somewhere I can get for this?

here is a picture of the plug in question. im guessing it is the antenna because its a blue wire and the other radios I have installed, the antenna was a blue wire. also that is the only thing not plugged in to the back of the radio, and the radio's only empty port is the antenna port. help guys! is there an adapter for this? all these people reading the thread but no input yet....thanks!

That's NOT the OEM antenna connector -- the OEM one is a simple plug.

The plug on the left is the original antenna wire.
Not sure what yours is.

I found what I believe is the antenna wire but it is a female plug. Looks like the male end of an antenna cable should plug into it. So tomorrow I'm going to get a male to male antenna adapter and we will see if that works. Hopefully so. But there is no male antenna connector in there right now

I actually have a Pioneer touch screen unit in my FD (Pioneer AVH-X3500DAB) I dont know if yours is a similar model, can you post the model number of the unit and I may be able to tell you more about it

As for the antenna, the stock FD should come with a male antenna connection in the car, as ppritchard shows in his photo. If its a female end in your car, thats unusual and perhaps someone has put that in there?

That multi-pin plug you have there rings a bell with me. I've seen or dealt with one of those before. Having your Pioneer's model number would definitely help.

I too have a Pioneer touchscreen and that round plug does not look familiar at all. Pioneer (unless they've changed recently) uses the simple plug in as shown by Pritchard for the antenna and their other cable connections are flat like this one:
