The right way to do it is with a set of corner weight scales. They are pretty cheap, only about $1000 for a cheaper set.

The RuggleS'cales at Pegasus Racing are just lever arms (2:1 or 4:1 ratio) that work with cheap bathroom scales.

There's a few places in the Bay Area that can corner-weight your car -- Roger Kraus Racing in Castro Valley, and I think C2 Automotive in Oakland.

You should be able to find a performance shop in the Bay Area with a set of corner weight scales mentioned above. Ask around in your Regional Forum.

when i get my engine back together ill take it by to get the corner weights tested (half of my engine is on the kitchen table... im in the middle of the vacuum line job). hey i have a question... wouldnt i want to sit in the car when i get the corner weights tested, or should i stay outside? it seems like corner weights would only be usefull or apply to one driver for a specific car......

You would want to be in the car, with the same gas load you would normally have when racing -- over half a tank anyway. Also, when they align it, tell them NOT to adjust for the road crown.

Yep. I doubt a racing shop like Roger Kraus would do that but mainstream shops will sometimes purposely tweak your alignment so you don't have to steer against the road crown all the time.
