Pegged the speedo a couple times. Stable- but the cf hood likes to move around too much, definately need hood pins. That was on stock twins. I wish I had gps in the car. I severely doubt the 180mph reading on the speedo is accurate. My guess is the car was really doing 170 or so. Had it to 160 a few times racing as well, mostly against my supra buddy..Not many people are mentally instable enough to take their cars up to that speed regularly. Doubt Ill go that fast again though.

A little over 150 on a straight, empty, and surprisingly smooth backroad. It was the main road into some little town, so there were light poles really close together all the way down. Seeing those poles almost turning into a brown blur as I flew right by them kinda tripped me out, so I slowed down to 90. Actually, now that I look back on it, that was kinda stupid...

I took mine up to 265kmph (~165mph) on a looooong stretch of road in the country. Things seem kinda surreal at that speed. Scared my pants off.

I once did 50 in a 30, scared the daylights out of the turkey on the side of the road.

^^ lol.

I did 170MPH with my father (crazy nut himself with his bullet bikes) in the car but I got some crazy vibes coming off the steering wheel so I let off. Plenty of pull left in her, so someday I'm going to hit 200...hopefully in a half-way decent environment.

I hit 161mph on the parkway one night about 5 montsh ago, car was a little shaky and i was afraid of how well i would be able to slow down, i still had about 2k left of RPM's, maybe next time i can see what it can really do on a straighter road.

My friend got a ticket doing 127 in a 30!! he just put nitrous on his eclipse and was trying it out for the first time on a back street straight away around midnight and just his luck there was a cop radaring and i have no idea why he stopped and pulled over?!?! He got 27 days in jail because the stupid law here is you do a day in jail for every mile an hour over 100, he also had to pay a crazy fine and ended up selling his car to pay it off. Also lost his license for a year. if he would of just kept going he would of been home free! Just thought i'd share the story, i thought it was a crazy story.

On my previous FD did 6500RPM in 5th, and the car still had more. I worked out that that should be 167mph.

My speedo only went to 180kmh thats why I had to work it out.

That was an R2 on stock twins, dp, mp, catback and intake. It was rock solid stable.

155 MPH on Route 80 toward Auburn on the way to Lake Tahoe. Decided to race a jacked up 70's Nova. Somked his *** bad!

The bad thing is that I Shredded 4" on Radiator hose and dumped all my coolant. I was really lucky and shut down before it totally over heated.

i hope all you people doing 150+ have Z rated tyres on your car. if not, your asking for a blowout. ive seen a tyre with large chunks of tread missing from a high speed run. those rating are there for a reason, dont push them.

my highest speed in my FD is 140. it had plenty more, but the front end seemed light and it was windy. and the idea of going to jail was not on my list of things to do that day.

My speedo is broken so I'm not sure what the actual MPH was, but I was redline in 5th and I was putting down around 230 rwhp on a mustang dyno.

Anyone NOT running Z or Y-rated tires on their FD should have it taken away from them in the first place.... There are many other areas of vehicle condition to worry about besides the speed rating of the tires....

My speedo is broken so I'm not sure what the actual MPH was, but I was redline in 5th and I was putting down around 230 rwhp on a mustang dyno.
You were going 200 mph, huh (redline in 5th)? Put down the crack pipe, son.

A lot of us speed demons in the Bay Area apparently.....I've hit 150+ 3 or 4 times on either 580 or 680, once racing a Ferrari Testarossa, all after midnight with no other traffic around.

Lots more BS in this thread....

ALL Mercedes have a 155mph speed limiter, and the 430AMG don't have enough beans to hit 185 mph anyway.

162 in a Saab 900? Right.

How was the 180 indicated in the Mk3 since the speedo only went up to 150-160?

You can not redline an FD in 5th, with stock gearing speed would be over 200 mph

Tell that to my passenger who was staring at my tach

Rynberg howd you come up with the 200mph? I though the stock FD tops out at 160. With the mods I have would I really be able to top out that high? All I know is the white lines between lanes became one solid one and I had to hold the brake pedal down for a considerable amount of time, and we passed the S4 going 120 like it was standing still.

In retrospect, I'm a dumbass I was curious to see how fast the 7 could go.. Driving this car is super addicting

Redlining 5th = 200 mph. Next time you are going to make something up, at least get the facts straight first....
