Ottoman: I agree with you, this is what I'm thinking, and going to try tomorrow.

I have seem a few FD doors that were saging, causing them to be hard to close. Almost like some one was putting a lot of weight on the door while open. This can only be fixed by adjusting the door hindges. To do this the easy way you must remove the front fenders.

Does your door come up a small amount just as it contacts the striker?

Or if your car is in good shape read jimlabs post again. And try his experiment.

Ok took her around to the mechanic this arvo and he fixed it in 10 minutes. My hinges were perfect so it wasn't that. It wasn't my scuff plates or body kit either.
The door lock striker was adjusted and hinges greased and bob's your uncle.

Door opens and closes now effortlessly.

I always crack the window a bit when I am inside closing the door. It's all about being air tight, just like the above post stated.
If you can leave your sunroof cracked, you won't have this problem.

No damnit! there's more to this problem than meets the eye. my passenger side door closes much easier than my drivers side; and that is with the window cracked. its the weather stripping, i'm tellin ya...

Try this experiment: Close your hatch last. Both doors will close easily with the hatch open, but with them closed, the hatch will take an extra hard shove to close.

Why? The interior is air-tight, and the internal vents don't release pressure quickly enough to allow the last open door (or hatch) to close easily. My '95 is still basically brand new (~13,000 miles) and it has always done this. Get used to it.
I've noticed that one my 94. Guess my weather seals are all good

Incorrect... as he is describing a different "problem".

My post #6 helps solve the problem the thread topic starter is describing, not what Jimlab was describing.

The original poster mentioned nothing about the door being hard to close with his windows down...

But that aside, you're my hero.

well this won't help too many people. But I had the same issue. I got hit on my drivers side and it was tough to close. I greased it up and it didn't help as much.

WELL, I am rebuilding the whole car, and I have the quarterpanels off. So what I did is loosen the part of the hinge that attached to the frame (as compared to attached to the door itself) and lifted the door up as hard as I could and then retightened the hindges. I did it all without help, as well so it isn't too hard.

The door now closes flawlessly. But I'm not sure if you can do this if the quarter panels are still on the car.

I saw that someone simply adjusted the door lock mechinism, and while that will work, I feel as if it is only a temporary fix.
