How do you tell it is an R1?
Well I Bought The Car And Waiting To Get It Shipped Here From Cali. I Got A Good Deal On It And One Of My Friends/co Workers Is Going To Rebuild It For Me At No Cost. Just Have To Buy The Parts. I Know Its Salvage, But I Did Carfax And It Wasnt In Any Major Accidents, Flood, Fire. I Think Cali Salvage Is Much Stricter. I Hope When I Bring It To Fl The Title Wont Show Salvage Any More.

Ok One More Important Question Before I Sign These Papers And Get This Car. The Title He Faxed Me Has A Different Vin. It Has A Worse Salvaged Title, But Is Still An R1. I Am Just Trying To See If Its Really Worth It. I May Want To Sell It Some Day And Buy Something Else.
I don't have my 7 yet, but I've been reading the forum for a few months now. This is the first time I've ever felt the need to post something (my first post here).
No offense sweetie but you'd have to be an idiot to buy that car. It's obviously been in a semi-serious to serious accident, and the buyer seems pretty shady. The slavage title + inconsistent VIN should be a big red light. Someone pleeeease back me up...

I looked at buying a car from this guy once. All he sells are Rx7's and MR2's He also tends to give them a cheap paint before putting them on the market. He's up front about it but I would rather have the orig paint and know what's going on under there. I ended up getting one from Texas. I think I agree with most of the people that this looks a little sketch. I'm no expert but I'd be willing to take a couple of pics for ya.
There are PLENTY of RX-7's out there. Any money you'll save on the purchase price you'll spend 3 times over trying to get the car up to snuff.
There are TONS of FD's in your neck of the woods, too. If you don't have the full amount, finance the rest. AVOID THIS JUNKER IN CALIFORNIA. You will be regretting it. A car is NOT something to make a snap decision on or buy the first one you find.
Hit the For Sale forums here as well - there's quite a few good, solid cars to choose from.
Again, read my how-to buy an FD guide I posted.

You are more likely going to spend a total of $16k or so (including the purchase price) to get this car in decent shape. And it will still have a salvage title. I bought a amost flawless 1993 R1 with 44k miles for that price.
There is nothing as expensive as a cheap FD.

Someone just gathered MOST of the parts to make it look like one.
TAN INTERIOR & SEATS?????? PLEASE..............
One additional fact that no one has commented about is the R1 front lip brake cooling ducts.
The fact is, it also has ducts on the under tray that line up to the R1 lip to direct the airflow to the front brakes, that teminate at the fender liner.
