How do you tell if your injectors are leaking

I have a little problem I my car is running very rich. Having problems starting and stuff like that. I thought it was my map sensor at first but after that checked out I checked the FPR and no gas in the line for that. I got the engine running again and decieded to pull the fuel pump fuse, and well the thing continued to run for up to four minutes idelling till I openened the throttle and it finally died. One other thing leaning me toword the fuel injectors is that when the pump primes with the key on the presure goes up but then dorps quickly. What do you guys think? Any feed back would be great.

Most cars will do that, the fuel pressure will bled off slowly until around 8-10 psi when the car stumbles and dies.

Well I pulled my engine today to see if indeed it was the injectors and to fix a oil and exhaust leak. Well I was wrong it wasn't a injector, it was three injectors I only had one good primary injector working the other was stuck open and the two secondarys were leaking as well. Now is there a good place to send these to for cleaning and rebuilding??

cleaning and rebuilding? are they the stock ones? i'd look into upgrades to boost your fuel ceiling in case you get greedy for more power. if you dont' want to upgrade, i've heard RC Engineering is a good place.

When you put the injectors in did you coat the o rings with carb cleaner? They should snap in when you install them. I had leaky secondaries because they weren't in all the way. I replaced the o rings and coated them real good in carb cleaner and then they slid right in place. Made a little "snap" too when they clicked in place.

Carb cleaner? Typically, carb cleaner doesn't fair well with rubber (it normally eats rubber). I would recommend using some clean engine oil to lube the o-rings for seating. I keep some Marvel Mystery oil around just for things like this.

I used white lith when installing them. I do not believe it was ans insallation error since ther were seated when I took them out. I would have to agree carb cleaner would not be the best thing to use on injecors. very corrosive. I am going to send out he injecotors tuesday and see what RC tells me

I forgot the name of the place I bought my secondaries from but they told me to use a particular brand of carb cleaner. Just a few squirts and install them. All I can say is it worked for me. I was having problems getting them to seat in so I called them back and that's what the shop guy told me they used all the time.

We clean & flow test them for $12 each, (at least until a planned price increase later this month). After that it will be $15 each with free return shipping for 4 or more injectors. Turn times are 1-2 days
