How do you know if your TPS is bad?

Well, I went to test the voltage on my TPS. It put out perfect voltage for closed throttle, but WOT is a different story. One reading was off the scale. The other was WAY too high. I guess that could explain some of my problems. Still, how do I know if my TPS Is bad or not? Would I be getting no voltage at all if it was bad?

Measure both the low and high sides from closed all the way to open.
Look for a smooth transistion without any drop offs.

You should have at least given us the 4 end points readings!

If you tried adjusting the TPS to get within the specified voltages, and you can't, then it could be bad. Don't replace it though till you try to adjust it.

First off I do have a PFC. No commander though.

Second off - I tried adjusting it. I can get the low sides to get close to spec. The bottom wire is at .01 and the top is at 1.4. Thats as close as I can get it. If I move the thottle plate the bottom one will go all the way to 8. The top one goes off my scale. It does make a smooth transition, but by about half throttle its already at 4 on both of them.
