How do you install 300M axles? I'm stuck!

I have the axles out of the car which was easy.

How did you get the outer section (CV joint) removed from the stock axle? The inner side that goes into the stub axles (differential side) was easy.

The part I'm stuck with (wheel side) I removed one clip so far (clip is away from the wheel side) and it is still retained in there by something which I assume is a C-clip on the other side of the CV. The axle moves back/forth about 1/2", but I can't get the inner section (ball bearings) to come out of the CV outer shell section.

I'm having a bitch of time and the Mazda online manual on "iluvmyrx7.com" doesn't list the exploded diagram and actually says do not disassemble.

I'm trying to install 300M axles.

Did you guys replace any parts other than the 300M axles upon reassembly?

Do I need a shop to remove these or is there some other trick? I'd rather do them myself.

Thanks,

Mark
