how do you get the front brake caliper bolts out?

anyone got any tips or tricks to get the front brake caliper bolts out?

i have tried a 2 and 3 foot braker bar and have jumpped on it. tried rubber mallet and a **** load of pounding. i really dont wanna snap these suckers off so anyone got any thing else they have tried that works well?

oh yeah, for those which are using impact wrenches, how the hell do you fit it back there? i cant seem to figure out how you can get anything but a 17mm socket+wrench in there.

P.S. i have already broken a 17mm socket haha

I had to have a friend add just a little extra push to get the last bolt off when I removed mine. I strained on the last one for hours, and it took just a second when I had a little help. Just have anyone (girlfriend, neighbor, etc) add a little effort with you and that should do it.

Heck, they probably wouldn't charge you anything. Just run up to Midas or some place like that.

The retainging bolts should not be that tight. Never had any problems on any FD that I have worked on.

Are you sure your working on the two bolts that hold the caliper to the hub, and not the bolts that hold that caliper halfs together? Any are you sure you are loosening them?

yeah dude.. lefty loosly... you sure you turning it the right way? i just did my brakes and if i remeber correctly the head of the bolt is not facing you but away from you... so from your angle (if your facing the side of the car)you will have to turn the wrench clockwise to loosen.

I put the closed end of a combo wrench on that sucker and attached a pipe on the end of it for added leverage. Busted loose no problem.

do you have a small blow torch? if you do, light it up, keep it away from any lines and heat up the screw slightly, tap the screw then try to loosen. If that doesn't work, heat it up a little more. It's just the grease has gone away so the threads are locked...with a little heat expansion it should loosen.

One of those bolts there have lockwashers which make it a bitch to get off. It took me a few tries over a few different days to do it last time.
