I wanted this one but can't remember what japanese site I got it from. Apexi-USA doesn't carry it. Maybe we should bug them for a group buy? I used velcro just above the hazard button but the angle is bad, so I neeed to tilt it more towards the drivers side.

Mine is held up with a cell phone holder that clips to the air vents. It makes me nervous as hell though because you know as well as I do those vents are probably brittle as hell.

I will be getting the one from gotham or rx7store soon.

No clue, just found it while scanning through some links and saw this thread, so figured I would post it.

I don’t use my commander unless I am in the engine bay really anyway…

I've never seen the point in that mounting setup. I have mine mounted with the gotham holder and like being able to check inj duties, coolant temp etc without having to take my eyes far away from the road.

I agree thats where it was mounted when I bought the car. It looks clean and all but if you are wanting to monitor anything it is not very safe plus ive noticed that my elbow hits the buttons.
Im more than likely going to order the Gotham setup also and find the cover thas supposed to go over that part of the center console.

I wanted to do the ashtray thing along time ago but I was going to tear the commander apart and mount the screen and buttons to a sheet of carbon fiber but never did it. The other Idea someone has done before is mounting in the unused DIN on a sheet of carbon fiber as well but side to side. The only problem is I want to switch stereos to a double din unit.

I actually find myself looking at it way too much, so doing the ashtray thing should help me forget about it when i'm driving. I prefer my car to be stock looking and not atttract unwanted attention.

Commander holder

I just bought the holder and bent it upwards so the parking brake wouldn't hit it.

Not familiar with rx7.com's holder, but the one pictured above is a GOTHAM RACING holder. Gotham is no longer in business, but occasionally they come up in the parts-for-sale section.

Wow....old thread but here is what i did. Its a $9 plastic clip from best buy with 3m stickum on the backs of both clips... basically a Slide In clip from the top. Keeps it nice and secure, its closer than the Gotham Mount and makes glancing down real easy for INj, Knock air and Water temp.

I mounted it over the Hazard Button with enough room to easily engage it if I need it. All I need to do now is reconnect the commander without it crossing the center console.
