Question How do i remove the pressure plate from the tranny?

I heard there is a clip or fork to remove to get the pressure plate off the tranny. Is there some detailed instructions or some pictures that would help?

Thanks!!

That question doesn't really make any sense. The pressure plate is around the shaft (input) between the transmission and the engine. To remove the plate, you must remove the engine or transmission first.

i assume you want to disconect the input shaft to the transmission from the clutch assembly. you need to pull the clutch release fork away from the pressure plate, then insert a large screwdriver to pry the throw-out bearing away from the pressure plate. mine popped right off without much effort once i found the right areas to pry against. sorry if my explaination didn't make much sense, but check the shop manual. it helped me out.

push to pressure plate back and pull the throughout bearing towards you. there should be a little ring around the throughout bearing. romove that ring and voila!

If you are trying to release the clutch so you can remove the engine or trans look in the inspection hole at the bottom of the trans you will see a thin ring use two screwdrivers and wiggle it towards the engine.
