how do i launch a twin turbo auto
search here or learn more a about cars in general but hold down the break and push down on the gas then let off the break. Dont take to long while doing it so you dont over heat your tranny.
Their is this guy that lives around here and he has an auto 9second supra. And he has this thing in his car that, i cant really explain that well its like dropping the clutch. I think its kinda like a studder box but for an auto. Well anyway the car starts out like the first 20 feet really slow then it just takes off like a bat out of hell.
Cars have BRAKES people...dammit learn to spell!
As for the launch...it is just a lot different in an auto FD. I've STILL not found any way to have a good, hard launch...but give me 20 feet and I'll ******* FLY!
We are cursed with having engines with very little torque (comparitively speaking), especially in the low rpm range. The stall speed on the torque converter is 3000 - 3300 rpm, but it seems that not too many people actually hit that.
On my car, when it is running REALLY good, making lots of hp on a nice cool day, I can lightly power brake and use the HOLD function and roll onto the throttle and jusssssst get the rear tires to start breaking loose and then release the brakes and roll onto the gas more....but it is still by no means a really impressive thing....THAT takes place just a second or so afterwards, when the boost comes on and the powerband has come up....it is not uncommon at all to sort of have a 'boggy' take off only to be followed by flat smoldering the rears until I push the HOLD button again to shift into 2nd.
It takes practice to get a decent launch...but be aware that it is NOTHING like what our 5 speed brothers do with a nice rev-up and clutch dump.
From a roll, these auto FDs are flat ******* incredible....that smash-your-***-into-the-seat thrust once everything hooks up and starts percolating is just a rush....and the power delivery all the way to somewhere around 140 mph is just....it is just awesome.
The boost just stays pegged right along with your right foot...no shifting, no momentary pauses in the power while you shift....just a near turbine-like constantly improving thrust.
Just get used to the limitations, DON'T go and try to be the 'stoplight drag king'....it ain't gonna happen. But once you have found that melding of car and driver....ahhhhhhh....it is a beautiful thing!

sorry, but there's no good way to launch an auto (unless you have a giant sling shot). Someone here claims to have a line lock, but I haven't seen any results posted. There are no transbrakes that I know of made for the rx7. Most drag racers that run autos have either of these devices to help them get off the line.
