how do i get these fuel lines off?

im having trouble figuring out these clamps on a fuel line. it's the hose that goes from the fuel feeder to the secondary fuel rail. it goes at a 90 degree angle. there are these round metal things on the hose ends. do i have to destroy these to get the old line off. i tried twisting them and they definetely dont unscrew or anything. i though maybe it just comes as a whole unit with the metal hardpiping it connects to but mazda sells the parts seperately so i imagine there has to be a way to just replace the fuel hose.

Yeah, that thing is a biatch to remove because you have to hold the rail and try to break the bolt loose. Since I knew that the hose was being replaced (it was included in the fuel line recall kit from Mazda), I used a pair of vice grips on the end of the banjo fitting and hit it real quick with an impact wrench. Note that I did this AFTER I washed everything out. I'm not sure you'd wanna try that with gas still in the rail.

yeah the banjo bolt one. so you just have to remove everything huh. you can't just replace the rubber fuel line? also if these aren't seperate and you can't just replace the rubber hose how is it installed because the mazda dealership sells the bolt, the line, on those round thingies seperate which makes me think you should have to buy new everything just the hose. also are those round things at the end of the rubber hose some kind of clip?
TIA

Are you talking about the clamps? You just squeeze them with a pair of pliers, take the clamp off the rubber line towards the hard line, and then twist the rubber off the steel hard line.

Or maybe that's not what you're talking about...?

He's talking about the banjo bolt at the end of the secondary fuel rail (on the left end).

Your confusion comes from the fact that the original design in the '93 models had a separate hose that was attached to the bango bolt connectors with clamps. As Sonny indicated, however, the part was upgraded to a single piece with pressure fitted bango bolt connectors. You were right at the start that the whole piece needs to be replaced now. You may have been looking at an old parts diagram that still shows the old three piece assembly.
