How do I calibrate my Tach + clean it

Hi,

I just finished doing the Linearization of my temp guage and resoldering of the joints on my tach.

Got a little prob

1. How do I recalibrate my tacho? It is reading about 1k too high. I read on another thread that I should remove the bottom stop needle and push the needle anticlockwise to about -1500 but is there an accurate way to do this? Or is that the "Approved way"

2. I got a little oil/grease mark on the dial. What can I clean this off with? (It's just natural hand moisture/oil, not Castrol or anything like that)

BTW, the Linearization procedure is great. It's nearly as good as a adding an aftermarket water temp guage, without losing the space.

Thanks

Trevor

I don't know how to calibrate but I can help with the other part of this thread.

Get some rubbing alcohol to clean it. Use cu-tips on the hard to get to spots.
