Anybody watch their temp gauge when doing the burnout...?

Or watch the temp gauge towards the end of the track
after doing a good burnout?

My was almost at full red... but then dropped down to normal when I slowed down to the return road from
ending the 1/4 mile. Is this normal?

Racer your reasoning for the ABS fuse is not quite right. The reason for disconnecting is because the ABS thinks the front wheels are locked up. So it kicks on the ABS to try and keep them from being locked. As a result your car tends to crawl forward while doing a burnout with the ABS fuse inplace.

Yes remove the ABS fuse. You will stay in place that way. Plus it will not wear your front brakes any.

I learned this from Famous 3rd gener "Brooks Weiblat"

This is the ART of the BURNOUT...

if you do not remove the ABS fuse you might wair out the clutch quickly cause the ABS will try to grab the rear brakes.

Have fun...

BS. You don't need to take out the ABS fuse. Rev the car up and dump the clutch (this isn't very hard on it, slipping it during the launch is much worse). As soon as the rear tires start spinning step on the brake, not much pedal pressure is required, the car will stay put, ABS does not interfere.

If you think I'm wrong that means you haven't tried it. You'll never notice any difference in brake pad life and the clutch does NOT get abused in this process.

If you like dragging your RX and you like heating the tires then call JEGS and get yourself a TCI $69 line lock that will save your clutch and brakes. Or you can do like R1 says and save your money for a clutch.
How is doing a burnout hard on the clutch? I can see how it would be bad for the rear brakes.
