how to control boost more
hey guys, while my engine was getting rebuilt we made the turbos to non sequential. we ported the wastegate as well, but we still get insane boost... as in 10 psi by 2800 rpm.. and it still wants to climb. im not sure how far it wants to climb but its not stopping at 10.
will I have to get a highflow cat? I have no airpump and still want to shoot flames.
is there some other alternative I can weld into the midpipe?
would a larger IC allow me to run the higher boost safely?
and lastly, can I check how high the boost wants to go safely by running some race gas?
before the new engine, I never had any boost creep problems with the full exhaust and stock ported wastegate. I guess the streetport made there be a lot more exhaust flow? I dunno.

hum....So you have zero boost control now? not even needle valves or pills? It doesnt'sound liek boost creep, it just sounds like uncontrolled boost as you said. I'd try needle valves or an EBC.
If you do creep, You can do a search for "restrictor plates" which are metal gaskets that sit in between the dp/mp or mp/cb. Make it an about 2" hole for starters. you are now reducing exhaust flow and that should help keep things in check.
A larger IC will allow you to run higher boost provided you have the fuel/timing to provide for the higher boost.
Race gas is a safety measure. I wouldn't put 100+ octane in my tank and then go boost exploring, you can still damage a motor or the turbos with high boost.

sorry forgot to mention the car has a manual boost controller. I guess I could fool with that some more.
as for porting the wastegate, we did that while the turbos and engine was out of the car.. you have to have the turbos off the car to do it.

I had the same problems until I got a boost controller. Do not buy the HKS EZ. It sucks ****!!!! The boost spikes were uncontrollable. Then I bought the Blitz ID boost controller. That was the best money I have spent. Its rock solid boost control is second to none. By the way I have dp, mp, cb, intercooler, intake, computer, koni adjustables, eibach springs, fittipaldi 18".
