How can you tell the diffrence between USDM and JDM transmissions.

I searched for this topic and couldnt find anything on it besides,
-Diffrent gear ratio
-5th gear has better syncro
-more RPMS on 5th

What I would like to know and keep archived is "How to spot the diffrence
" from looking at the tranny from the outside.

None that I know of externally.

The 5th gear synchro was likely a problem on the early JDM cars as well. But, they obviously fixed that early in the production run and they kept making FD trannies until '02 so there's lots more out there that are good.
