how can people fill their tank w/ xylene and other stuff?

i was at home depot the other day looking at xylene because lately i've been thinking of raising the octane on my gas. it's $10 for a gallon. To get a good octane rating you should probably mix at least 20%. how do these people afford to do this every tank of gas? is there some way to buy it more cost effectively like in barrels or something
thanx

Or go to the gas station and mix 101 octane. Umm honestly I wouldnt suggest mixing it unless you really need it. (running high boost). I run in really hot weather so I add just a bit of 101 octane to make sure I dont have problems but I do it maybe once a month. Also I get a 12 psi boost spike.

This gas station is on the edge of the everglades and its only one pump that has it. Its for the people running 101 octane on their air boats motors. Those big block v8's are scary and more so without exhaust or what not.

I run Toulene, or Xylene, depending on what is available.

I get mine at a local paint store, $5 bucks a gallon. This is the same price as 100 octane race gas from the 76 station.

I mix @ 10 gallons of crappy 91 octane California gas. to 1 gallon of 114 to 121 octane Toulene, or Xylene.

It is really more like cheap insurance, rather than expensive gas. Especially at 16 pounds of boost

Also, if you are running stock or close to stock, I would not worry about running Toulene.

If you turn down the boost this wouldn't be an issue.
