How can I remove driver side footrest?

When I was removing the clutch interlock switch one of the bolts fell behind the footrest. I removed the two bolts holding the footrest but couldn't take the footrest off cause it feels like something is pulling it (other then the groove/nipple behind one of the bolt holes). I don't want to pull hard and brake the footrest, I looked in service manual in dashboard and trim section but nothing on footrest. Do you guys know what's holding the footrest? I don't want to brake anything.

There are only one bolt on the side and one nut on the firewall that hold it. It might be hung up on the stud on the firewall. Taking off the door sill cover and kick panel might help.

Thanks, it was dark and wanted to try the easy way first. I'll try taking off the kickpanel as soon as the rain stops.
