How 7's can kick butt in Autox
Alan,
Have you done something special to your fuel tank to run with that little fuel? Anytime I ran events with 1/2 tank or less and turned hard (or long & fast) to the left I lost fuel momentarily. I've been told that this is a bad thing in these cars so I usually run with 3/4 tank or so.
BTW I run Super Stock in North Carolina. I actually had more trouble last year at local events keeping up with Rob Faulkner in the Boxster S. Now he's down in AS so It's just me and the C5's this year. Wish me luck!

In short it is what they do in Japan. I run the fuel line to a small resevour then another fuel pump that pumps from the resevour to the motor. This small resevour will hold enough fuel for about 30 seconds. So unless you are in a sharp turn for more than 30 seconds the stock fuel pump will pick up enough fuel to refill the resevour. I have it set up this year for the first time. It looks to work exactly as stated. They are using it in Japan now.
If you want to know where the post is, just let me know and when I get back I will search my posts. Or if you want do a search by Spank, and you will see a post where someone told me the trick.

Rob is lined up top be an instructor for my EVO Phase II in Atlanta. So far I've only raced against him. It will be interesting to watch him drive my car. I am looking forward to it. I'd be interested in how you did the resevoir thing, although it doesn't sound like the kind of thing they would allow in stock classes.
