TX Hotter Plugs and emissions

Would hotter plugs, say 6's leading and 7's trailing help pass emissions testing? Not what you would run daily, just for emissions?

you're in austin

would there be anyway for you to just take your car to killeen and get inspection there?

im assuming you'd need to get an emissions test while you get your car inspected

stock plugs 7's and 9's work just fine for emissions as long as you have a main cat and air pump

Yes I'm in Austin and emissions is required. Not sure about getting inspected in another county, your insurance and drivers license won’t match up. The 7's and 9's are cutting it that's why I asking. Car runs rich at idle with 850 primaries. Tuning might correct this enough for inspection but all the good tuners I know of are 3+ hours away.

if you're not tuned, then you're going to have to do that FIRST.

because all thats going to happen is that you'll fail, and you'll have to correct to problem ANYWAY and thats a waste of money.

Get Steve Kan or BDC to come down to Austin for a weekend to tune your car for max power and another tune strictly for emissions.

thats what i would do.

Its not going to be easy i'll say that right now

what other mods do you have??.. the 850 primaries are whats making you run rich.. no way you will pass by changing plugs. you will need an air pump main cat and a good tune. but like what was posted it aint going to be easy!!!!

There is no good reason to run 850 primaries on any FD anymore. Zero. There are other injector setups that work fine and don't have idle hassles.

Your right CPTPAIN that tuning is a requirement to passing emissions, wish I had a local tuner that I could trust and was half as good as Steve or Brian.

I've got a working air pump and cat installed, car was originally tuned at Gotham for the previous owner. Car has 850 primary and secondaries, Pettit streetport, twins. ARGHX if you have a recommendation for a good injector setup I'm interested.

I've read lots of threads about passing/failing emissions due to rich idle conditions, just curious if the hotter plug setup might help those on the fence to passing an easy solution. It looks like no one has tried it.
