hot starting problems

hot starting problems
ok guys this is the problem. it starts up with no problem when the engine is
cold. but if i drive it , shut it off, and come back to try to crank it again...nothing...it
will turn over strong like it wants to crank but wont. i have to play with the gas pedal to get it crank.
things ive checked and done.
new spark plugs.
check all my grounds
change all the vacuum hoses
new air temp sensor
new coolant temp sensor
new o2 sensor
deflooded it
new fuel pump relay
check voltage levels
kinda stuck on ideas now. if u guys have any tips it would help out alot

first thing you should do immediately is a compression test. Low compression engines have harder times starting once they're heat soaked after use.
Once you rule that out, then you can move on to the parts chase.

Probably something you don't want to hear but it's likely low compression. I bought my FD knowing it had hot start problems. If you shut it off, it wouldn't turn over again until 20-30 minutes later. Ran compression test and I'm in the middle of putting the new engine in. I knew I needed a new engine, but I bought the car hoping maybe it wouldn't be that but yea, new engine. Sorry for the loss!

if you want to delay the inevitable, you can wire an on/off toggle switch to your fuel injector circuit. when you engine is hot, just toggle the fuel off and crank it for a short period and then flip the switch and it will start. once started it will be fine.
i remember Chris Dembs at the Road Atlanta Runoffs had to pour oil down his Weber Carb to get his motor started. he won the race which was a bigtime event at that time.
a toggle switch will buy you 6 months.

ya i had the same problem when i bought mine guy said it was like that after he got it rebuilt but the rebuild was shotty lasted maybe 40k and gave up. now its getting rebuilt.
