Yes they all are prone to it over time. I like to limit myself and customers to around 25K-50K at the most miles on the hoses. Due to heat on the exterior, and the fact that coolant hoses espeacially go bad from the inside out. Meaning you can't tell until it blows. Unless you see it swelling up.
In the overall scheme it is cheap insurance to replace them once a year depending on where you live and how much you drive.
Seeing that you are in DC I would think you could stretch the length to maybe 2 years. If you do not drive in the winter. ( less miles)

since on topic already i wanted to know if theres anywhere i can get a complete set of replacment hoses, not just the upper and lower radiator hoses. i had that small "L" shaped one that is right infront of the UIM, almost right on top of the engine bay split on my while i was on I-95 one day and it almost cost me an engine, and want to replace every single hose that coolant flows through. i bought what i thought was the complete set from SRmotorsports, and when it arrived i opened the box only to find the upper and lower hoses. so if anyone knows someone that sells everything could you let me know, if i cant find anything ill just buy and shape my own
