Hood wont open?

Hey I ave a 93 RX-7 and my hood wont pop. I took it to the mazda dealer and they said it would cost me $750. Did this happen to anyone else. Does anyone know whats wrong? How much should it cost to fix. Thanks!

whats wrong with it? when you pull the hood latch does it not open? than you prolly have a broken latch cable... but if you pull and you get the noormal pop feeling and it doesnt open, than its something with your hood latch in the front of the hood..... also
the Mazda Guys just know how to charge exuberant amounts of money, they dont know how to fix cars... im sure if you worked with it what ever is wrong you would be able to fix it easy, and im sure someone in your area that is also a car enthusiast will be happy to help you out... Hope this helps some
Good luck

What happneed to mine is my hood latch cable broke. I took it to Mazda and they said it would be $350 to fix!!! So what I did is I cought the latch and cable at Mazda ($40) and took it to my mechanic. He originally told me $50 but then called me and said it would be more. They said it was alot of work b/c to get to it, they had to drop the rad out etc...so $150 in labor. Mazda dealers SUCK.
