Hood latch questions
I have been trying to put my hood latch back together so I can close my hood. When I had the thick spring off the arm seemed to move much better but when I try to close the hood the arm will not budge. My question is do I have everything hooked up correctly and do I need the thick spring. I ask this because it takes so much force to get that arm to move with both springs installed I just can't see the hood being able to close without causing lots of damage.

I'll take a look tonight for you and see how mine is. A friend of mine had the same issue with his skyline, after a bit of lube, cleaning & raising a few mm, it seemed to work fine.
When not connected, does the cable you use to open the bonnet (hood) retract ok after being pulled? I've seen them cause issues like this before...

Thank you very much. The cable does pull the bottom lever which gets the upper arm to the open position. My issue is when the hoods latch is sitting on the arm justlike its supposed to be when closing the hood it can't be pushed down to fully close even though I can do it with my finger with the thinker spring removed. Its really frustrating.

Hmm I wonder if its just the low weight of my carbon hood messing with things. I'll just have to try with my stocker. The alignment seems fine with the prices sitting on top of one another but they just don't want to cooperate and close.
BTw thanks for taking the time to post a pic, its greatly appreciated! =)

Looks to be the same size. I just ended up with the same results with the stock hood. The pieces line up correctly but even under force I just can't get it to pull the arm down into the close position. I've tried this with the thicker spring in and out.

Now I have noticed that the cable isn't connected under the dash, could this be making it hard to close? Also I'm not really sure how to reconnect it, could someone please explain or simply post a pic?

I'm having the opposite issue you are. I can't get my hood to open and I think the cable let go under there somewhere. I disconnected it from in the cabin and tried pulling it gently and nothing. However, it does clip up in the assembly under the dash kind of strange. I thought I was going to break the tab sliding it back in there.
