hello, been out of town for awhile and havnt been around the forums for awhile

but now i started driving the car again and it is making some strange noise.

we found out the hood is making a large vibration rattle noise between 2500 RPM and 3000 RPM. it only happens when the accelerator is pressed.

not too sure what it could be, tried searching but nothing came up.

i repositioned a fender and tighten the hood but the noise still occurs. it almost sounds like grinding or rubbing, but it only happens at that RPM when the accelerator is pressed. if the car is in neutral and the RPMs are decelerating, the noise does not occur.

 

Are you sure it is the hood? The engine sounds more likely...

 

yes its probably the engine but the vibration seems to be causing the hood to vibrate alot. if you put your hand out of the window and touch the hood u can feel it.

 

Have you tried revving the car at idle (with the hood up) using the throttle on the TB and see if you can notice a problem?

 

Is it a screeching sound? Bad air pump?
