Hood Dampers sticking

Anyone experience this? I installed a set of Tein hood dampers a few years back. It seems they have lost their rebound & I have to push the hood all the way up.

Similar to my hatch on my 215k mile beater... but not something I'd expect from an aftermarket performance product

The hood dampers come with a small bottle of oil? Have you tried lubing the struts?

Likely time for a replacement. Tein may sell just the shock.

My Rotary Extreme dampener kit are still very strong after 3 years. Great quality.

3 years on my tein's and no issues at all. They came with that small bottle of grease which I still have and use it about 2-3 times a year. Try lubing them up and see if they come alive

Response directly from Tein:

Thank you for your inquiry. Please take note that our Hood Dampers are
designed to open the hood half way. You would need to lift the hood to
completely open the hood.

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Tried some silicone spray but no go, maybe something a little thicker in constancy next. Damn the RE ones coming out after I had these purchased!

I installed a used TEIN hood damper last year, and I lubricate it, still only open half way on my stock hood.

I am going aftermarket FRP vented hood soon, will the TEIN hood damper still work? But I remember these TEIN hood damper is only for stock hood weight. What hood damper should FRP or CF hood uses?

RE damper works great with my CF hood and stock hood.
