in all honesty . I would not trust an hds ( home depot special) boost controller.

some have had sucess.. Others not to much.

My buddy made one . It held 10psi for 2 runs . Then spiked 20psi and there went his motor.

I had one on my talon. Held 15psi great on a smaller turbo. As soon as I strapped a big boy on there It was spiking 34psi. Not reliable at all.

If you want a manual . Go with a quality unit. They're cheap enough as is.

i am unfortunatly using this exact setup right now mind you on stock boost w/ cat still installed. i peak at about 11 psi and then drop back to 10. its working for stock boost but if you want more than stock boost go with something a little more trusted. i am also running a pfc non-sequential and i have the valve bleeding to atmosphere. the only reason im using this one is its not a "MANUAL BOOST CONTROLLER" like you see on ebay and the like. It is a screw type valve once set no moving parts like others that have a ball and spring that can get stuck open giving you the outrageous boost spikes. it works for me on STOCK boost till next year when i go single, v-mount. iv already put enough into it this year buying the car swapping the engine all new wiring harnesses, misc other small things. oops iv started to take over the thread

I was using a greddy ebc on my fd... Thats also what Im planning on using in my new fd. Its nice to set it and forget it . In a way.

For a manual bc I used a turbo xs. worked great for me . Really solid boost.

Got it to spike and hold the amount I wanted at all times.

You can buy ball and spring boost controllers on eBay for $30 or so (though the brand name ones are closer to $100).
